In those times Philippe Artzner opened up a Foie Gras Store in Strasbourg. His sons Edouard was the first to have the idea of cooking his Foie Gras in earthenware pots, in 1850. In the previous century Edouard Artzner was already the favorite tradesman of the Royal Court and his international fame of quality had propelled him to the summit of our French gastronomy. If Edouard Artzner's is today the eldest House still producing Foie Gras, it is due to the fact the receipe of its genuine authentical Foie Gras from Strasbourg has been perpetuated by its Master-Cooks over the generations. |
